Ashdod Arena

Bringing scale, sport, and culture together in the landscape.

Ashdod’s new multi-purpose arena will serve as a regional hub for sports, entertainment, and public events — a 5,000-seat venue designed to anchor a growing civic and recreational district.

Located near the Ashdod Port and adjacent to the new Sorek Wadi Park, the arena forms part of a larger sports complex that includes a football stadium and Olympic-sized swimming pool. Set within one of the city’s last remaining open spaces — a site historically defined by sand dunes — the project aims to embed architecture into topography, preserving openness while enhancing connections to the surrounding park and coastline. The building separates uses vertically for clarity and efficiency. All athletic and operational programs are located on a single lower level to support smooth circulation and back-of-house logistics. Spectator functions rise above, with grand entrance halls that double as social spaces, blurring the line between event infrastructure and civic amenity. More than a sports facility, the arena offers Ashdod a new cultural landmark — one that unites athletics, performance, and community life within a carefully integrated landscape, setting the stage for a new era of large-scale public gathering in the city.
