Positioned near Lod’s Old City and major transit lines, the new cultural center is designed as a porous and accessible destination — welcoming diverse communities through a mix of indoor and open-air programming.
The building introduces a sequence of interior and exterior spaces that complement one another, supporting spontaneous activity alongside formal events. A central internal plaza and outdoor terraces offer flexible platforms for performances and gatherings, while enclosed halls — from a 900-seat auditorium to smaller fringe spaces — accommodate a wide range of cultural events. The program includes a community center for children and teens, with classrooms, studios, a library, and active rooftop spaces. The design enables continuous use throughout the day and evening, encouraging interaction across age groups and backgrounds. More than a cultural venue, the project creates a civic anchor — open, connective, and fully integrated into Lod’s evolving urban fabric.
