Sderot Tennis Center

A new tennis center in Sderot that provides the community with stellar sports facilities

An extension and re-envision of a leisure center facilities in the southern Israeli city of Sderot. The existing facilities include a swimming pool, basketball and soccer courts and several currently unused sports courts spaces.

The new design includes the addition of several tennis courts and some public spaces. The project’s first phase, currently under construction, includes the design of a tennis facility presented in a circular shaped bridge together with a staircase that surrounds four and a half tennis courts. The bridge surrounds the courts in different levels, with the lowest touching the ground and other points being uplifted. This diversity of heights and shape allows for the bridge to incorporate three buildings. The bridge also functions as a running path, and integrates in it's lowest part with the existing park below. Inside the bridge there are four tennis courts with seating places and tribunes included. The bridge separates the tennis courts from the surrounding public spaces while at the same time defines the different uses of the tennis complex. Under the bridge there are three buildings housing several facilities that include changing rooms, showers, and spaces for administrative use.
