The new multi-purpose arena in Ashdod, located in southern Israel, will accommodate 5,000 spectators and serve as a venue for basketball, volleyball, and handball games, as well as music concerts, conferences, and various city events.
The arena is part of a larger sports complex in the northern part of the city, situated near the Ashdod Port and the newly developed Sorek Wadi Park, which extends to the sea. In addition to the arena, the sports complex will feature a football stadium and an Olympic-sized swimming pool, occupying one of Ashdod’s last remaining open spaces. Historically defined by sand dunes, the site aims to recreate a topographical outdoor experience by integrating the arena into the natural landscape. This approach allows for a large facility while preserving generous open spaces and enhancing the adjacent park's connectivity. The arena’s design separates functions vertically, with all sports and management facilities consolidated on a single level for streamlined operations and movement. The upper level, dedicated to spectators, includes grand entrance halls that can double as gathering spaces, offering both functionality and a welcoming atmosphere.
