East Kfar Yona is a neighbourhood of a monotonous grid of identical H-shaped structures. This housing project was an opportunity to reshape this ordinary landscape into something extraordinary.
Instead of adhering to the standard plan, we envisioned a community that would breathe and flow. The bulky H-shapes were dismantled, replaced by six slender, elongated buildings. These structures were carefully positioned, creating open spaces that invited in light and air. The varying heights of the buildings added dynamism, guiding the eye towards the horizon. Each floor of these buildings housed only two apartments, ensuring privacy and ample space for every resident. The ground floor, free of cars, became a shared communal space, a haven where neighbours could gather and connect. The underground parking lot, discreetly tucked away, maintained the tranquillity of the surface level. The meticulous design extended beyond the layout to the very fabric of the buildings. Every detail, from the choice of materials to the facade's intricate patterns, was carefully considered. The result was a neighbourhood that not only looked appealing, but also felt harmonious and inviting. This way, a typical suburban development was transformed into a unique and vibrant community. It is a place where residents could truly thrive, a testament to the power of innovative design to elevate the everyday.
